On Android, the easiest way is to add your mailbox as an IMAP account in the Gmail app or the Samsung Email app. Menu names may differ slightly depending on the device.

Gmail app

  1. Open Gmail, tap your profile picture > Add another account > Other.
  2. Enter your full e-mail address and tap Manual setup.
  3. Choose Personal (IMAP) and enter the password.
  4. Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings (see below), tapping Next each time.
  5. Choose the sync options and finish the setup.

Samsung Email

  1. Open the Email app > menu > gear icon > Add account > Other.
  2. Enter e-mail address and password and tap Manual setup.
  3. Select IMAP account, enter the server details and tap Sign in.

Which values apply depends on whether your mailbox belongs to a web hosting plan (cPanel) or to an e-mail package:

Web hosting mailbox (cPanel)

  • Incoming (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.ch, port 993, SSL/TLS
  • Alternatively POP3: mail.yourdomain.ch, port 995, SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.ch, port 465 SSL/TLS or 587 STARTTLS
  • Username: full e-mail address; enable SMTP authentication (same credentials)

E-mail package (E-Mail Postfach / E-Mail Business)

  • Incoming (IMAP): mail.hoston.ch, port 993, SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing (SMTP): mail.hoston.ch, port 465 SSL/TLS or 587 STARTTLS
  • Username: full e-mail address; enable SMTP authentication
