A domain alias (formerly "parked domain") shows the same content as your main domain. This is useful if, for example, you own yourdomain.com in addition to yourdomain.ch and both addresses should display the same website.
Requirement: the alias domain must use the nameservers ns1.hoston.ch and ns2.hoston.ch.
Create an alias
- Log in to cPanel at https://cpanel.hoston.ch.
- In the Domains section, click Domains.
- Click Create A New Domain.
- In the Domain field, enter the alias domain.
- Leave Share document root checked. The domain will then use the same directory as the main domain.
- Click Submit.
Remove an alias
- In cPanel, open Domains > Domains.
- Click Manage next to the alias domain.
- Click Remove Domain and confirm.
Tip: for search engines it is better to redirect one address to the other instead of showing duplicate content. Add a 301 redirect under Redirects as well.
