Free SSL certificate with AutoSSL Print

  • SSL, AutoSSL, HTTPS

AutoSSL automatically issues a free SSL certificate for every domain and subdomain in your cPanel account and renews it in time. You do not need to order anything.

Requirements

  • The domain points to your hosting at hoston.ch (nameservers ns1.hoston.ch / ns2.hoston.ch or a matching A record).
  • The domain is publicly reachable and not blocked by redirects or .htaccess rules.

After adding a domain or changing DNS, issuing the certificate usually takes a few hours.

Check the status and run AutoSSL manually

  1. Log in to cPanel at https://cpanel.hoston.ch.
  2. In the Security section, click SSL/TLS Status.
  3. Check the status of each domain. A green padlock means the certificate is active.
  4. If a certificate is missing, click Run AutoSSL and wait until the process has finished.
  5. If it still does not work, open the latest AutoSSL log entry (click the domain's status) and check the error message.

Note: the most common cause of errors is that the domain does not (yet) point to our hosting. If there is still no certificate after 24 hours and you cannot find the cause, open a support ticket in the Client Area.
