SSH is an encrypted connection to your server's command line. You need the IP address and root password from the welcome e-mail or the Client Area.

Windows 10/11 (Terminal or PowerShell)

  1. Open Windows Terminal or PowerShell.
  2. Type ssh root@YOUR-IP and press Enter.
  3. On the first connection, confirm the server fingerprint with yes.
  4. Enter the password (it is not displayed while typing) and press Enter.

Windows with PuTTY

  1. Download PuTTY from https://www.putty.org and start it.
  2. Enter the IP address under Host Name, port 22, connection type SSH.
  3. Click Open, accept the server key and log in as root with your password.

macOS and Linux

  1. Open the Terminal.
  2. Type ssh root@YOUR-IP, confirm the fingerprint with yes and enter the password.

Tip: If you changed the SSH port, connect with ssh -p PORT root@YOUR-IP. If you get "Connection refused" or a timeout, check the firewall rules on your server.
