cPanel shows you at any time how much disk space your files, e-mails and databases use, and whether your website is reaching the resource limits (CPU, RAM, processes) of your package.

Check disk space

  1. Log in at https://cpanel.hoston.ch.
  2. In the Files section, click Disk Usage.
  3. The overview shows which folders use the most space. Expand folders to find large subdirectories.
  4. Further down you also see the space used by databases and mailboxes.

Common space hogs are old backups in the web space, ZIP archives, cache folders and full mailboxes.

Check resource usage

  1. In the Metrics section, click Resource Usage.
  2. The overview shows whether your account has recently hit any limits.
  3. Click Details to see charts for CPU, physical memory, input/output (IO) and entry processes (EP).

Note: Values in the Faults column mean that a limit was reached. The website may then become slow or show errors such as 503 or 508. Caching (e.g. LiteSpeed Cache for WordPress), removing unnecessary plugins or upgrading to a larger package often help.
