Adjust PHP settings Print

  • PHP, memory_limit, upload_max_filesize
  • 0

You can adjust important PHP values such as the memory limit or the maximum upload size yourself in cPanel under Select PHP Version.

  1. Log in at https://cpanel.hoston.ch.
  2. In the Software section, click Select PHP Version.
  3. Switch to the Options tab.
  4. Change the value using the drop-down menu or checkbox. The change is saved immediately.

Commonly adjusted options

  • memory_limit: maximum memory per PHP script, e.g. 256M or 512M
  • upload_max_filesize: maximum size of an uploaded file
  • post_max_size: maximum size of a form submission; should be at least as large as upload_max_filesize
  • max_execution_time: maximum run time of a script in seconds
  • display_errors: shows PHP errors in the browser – enable only for troubleshooting and switch it off again afterwards
  • allow_url_fopen: allows PHP to open files via URLs; required by some applications

Note: If the Options tab shows a message about the native version, first choose a specific PHP version (see the article "Change the PHP version"). The values apply within the resource limits of your package.
