Damaged tables can cause errors such as "Table is marked as crashed". With phpMyAdmin you can check, repair and optimise tables in a few steps.
Repair tables
- First make a backup of the database (export in phpMyAdmin or JetBackup).
- Log in at https://cpanel.hoston.ch and open Databases > phpMyAdmin.
- Click the database name on the left. The list of tables appears.
- Below the list, click Check all.
- From the With selected menu, choose Repair table.
- phpMyAdmin shows the result for each table. OK means the table is fine.
Optimise tables
- Select all tables with Check all as above.
- From the With selected menu, choose Optimize table.
Optimising frees unused space and can speed up queries, especially after many entries have been deleted.
Note: Use Check table if you only want to check tables first. If a table still reports errors after the repair, restore the database from a JetBackup backup or open a ticket in the Client Area.
