Damaged tables can cause errors such as "Table is marked as crashed". With phpMyAdmin you can check, repair and optimise tables in a few steps.

Repair tables

  1. First make a backup of the database (export in phpMyAdmin or JetBackup).
  2. Log in at https://cpanel.hoston.ch and open Databases > phpMyAdmin.
  3. Click the database name on the left. The list of tables appears.
  4. Below the list, click Check all.
  5. From the With selected menu, choose Repair table.
  6. phpMyAdmin shows the result for each table. OK means the table is fine.

Optimise tables

  1. Select all tables with Check all as above.
  2. From the With selected menu, choose Optimize table.

Optimising frees unused space and can speed up queries, especially after many entries have been deleted.

Note: Use Check table if you only want to check tables first. If a table still reports errors after the repair, restore the database from a JetBackup backup or open a ticket in the Client Area.
