SSH is an encrypted connection to your server's command line. You need the IP address and root password from the welcome e-mail or the Client Area.
Windows 10/11 (Terminal or PowerShell)
- Open Windows Terminal or PowerShell.
- Type
ssh root@YOUR-IPand press Enter. - On the first connection, confirm the server fingerprint with
yes. - Enter the password (it is not displayed while typing) and press Enter.
Windows with PuTTY
- Download PuTTY from https://www.putty.org and start it.
- Enter the IP address under Host Name, port 22, connection type SSH.
- Click Open, accept the server key and log in as
rootwith your password.
macOS and Linux
- Open the Terminal.
- Type
ssh root@YOUR-IP, confirm the fingerprint withyesand enter the password.
Tip: If you changed the SSH port, connect with ssh -p PORT root@YOUR-IP. If you get "Connection refused" or a timeout, check the firewall rules on your server.
