Change the PHP version Print

Depending on your application, you may need a specific PHP version. In cPanel you choose the version yourself – for the whole account or for individual domains.

Option 1: Select PHP Version (recommended)

  1. Log in at https://cpanel.hoston.ch.
  2. In the Software section, click Select PHP Version.
  3. Next to Current PHP version, choose the version you want.
  4. Click Apply or Set as current.

This is also where you configure extensions and PHP options.

Option 2: MultiPHP Manager (per domain)

  1. In the Software section, click MultiPHP Manager.
  2. Tick the domain you want to change in the list.
  3. On the right, under PHP Version, choose the version and click Apply.

This lets different domains in the same account use different PHP versions.

Note: If a domain is set to inherit in the MultiPHP Manager, the setting from Select PHP Version applies. Before switching, check that your application (e.g. WordPress with its plugins and theme) supports the new version, and test the website afterwards.
